Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is an abnormal growth of skin cells. Skin cancer most often develops on the skin exposed to the sun’s rays. However, skin cancer can also develop on areas not regularly exposed to the sun’s rays. There are three types of skin cancer that account for nearly 100% of all diagnosed cases: Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC), Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC), and Melanoma. Finding a skin cancer at its earliest stage gives you the greatest chance of being treated successfully. It is important to examine your skin regularly for lesions, growths, and moles that change in appearance.
